I've gotten so many requests to write about my eating habits and what I eat in a day as pregnant in the second trimester. I actually have super lame eating habits right now and mostly eat the same things every single day. Eating has been rough ever since the pregnancy started, because of many reasons, so here's a little honest update on that.
As you will notice my eating habits aren't the best ones right now. In the beginning of pregnancy I wasn't able to eat anything but bananas and drink meal replacements, so now that I'm not in a that bad of condition anymore I try to eat safe foods to get enough calories at least. But my food habits miss variation and I really hope I will be able to eat a bit better soon, but right now this is my honest and a bit crappy "what I eat in a day" haha. I can't wrap my head around these pregnant women that seem to eat the perfect pregnancy meals 24/7 in between their gym sessions while I'm over here eating my potatoes and maybe on a good day go out with my dog for 10 minutes. Just a reminder that pregnancy is really tricky for some so here we go.
I usually have a homemade berry smoothie for breakfast. So I mix soy yoghurt (natural flavor) with blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. To this I either have rye bread or soy peach yoghurt with müsli/cornflakes.
Sometimes during the day I have a snack that is kind of similar to my breakkie. So it's either some fruits with soy yoghurt or toast with vegan butter. And I usually have a glass of juice to it.
Right now I literally only eat two things for dinner, if we don't go to some restaurant. So either it's potatoes with vegan butter and vegan "chicken" nuggets or plain pasta with tomato sauce. I'm just in a phase where I can eat since I'm not THAT nauseas anymore, but I have a hard time trying new stuff that aren't on my "safe list" since I never know what's gonna make me feel bad (and then I won't be able to have it and will anyways end up making my potatoes haha). And I have a really hard time with these "warm meals", so snacks are much easier.
I honestly often have like 2-3 potatoes with vegan butter sometimes right before I fall asleep. If not that, I have a toast or some plain soy yoghurt. And if I haven't gotten enough food I sometimes have a meal replacement drink in the evening as well!
