I got inspired to do this post while I was watching the series "Kropphets". Because even though you know that you are surrounded by edited pictures and photoshop you get so brainwashed by it that you suddenly think the edited body is "normal". Even though it actually looks unhealthy and nothing like the average, healthy body.
So I decided to try one of these famous apps where you can make yourself "slimmer & skinnier". Just to show you how the real me looks vs the edited me. And to show you the scary things photoshop will do to you. The scary part about this is that when you first see the original, unedited picture of me you'll think I look normal. But then when you stare at the edited, skinnier and tinier me, you will soon start thinking that it looks pretty normal, good and realistic. And this is exactly what photoshop and these "slim apps" do to you.
I simply don't follow any of these "inspo" accounts on social media, where you see slim, fit and skinny girls looking all happy and motivating. Even though a tiny tiny tiiiny percentage of the population has that type of body normally, most of the pictures you see online are just edited. To fit in to the crazy ideal.
If everybody simply stopped editing bodies and using these tools to make themselves look slimmer, our brains would get a reality check. Because now we mostly get chocked when we see unedited pictures of normal looking people, since we're blinded by everything else.
Now, I've never tried this before so I'm not a professional, but I did my best using these (insane) tools and here's the result:
