I've promised to show you a bit of our new home so I figured I'll do it in different parts since we're only moving in and nothing's 100% ready yet. The only spot that's about 80% done is the bathroom so I'm going to show you some pictures of it today. The bathroom is definitely one of the most important things for me in an apartment, I love to have lots of space and nice lightning so it feels cozy to do make-up, hair, have a spa night and soon change diapers there haha.
The best part about the bathroom is definitely the double shower and steam room. I've always wanted double showers (and sinks) so it's a bit like me and my husband has one each. And neither has to wait for "their turn" in the morning. Also, there's a steam room (sauna) in our bathroom that's not on the pictures below. I don't know if I'll dare to use it while pregnant since I get dizzy so easily, but when the baby's here I'll definitely use it. I've never been a fan of saunas but steam rooms are my favorite!
Many have been asking why we moved and where: we actually moved to Stockholm in May last year since my husband got a job there. In the beginning of my pregnancy I was very ill and needed a lot of support and help so it felt safe to be in Finland and close to family/friends. But since my hubby's work is in Stockholm he had to go back and forth the three months we were in Finland. So the plan was maybe to stay a bit longer in the beginning but it just didn't feel right so we started to look up new apartments in Stockholm pretty quickly. I also strongly felt that I wanted to give birth in Stockholm.
Last year in Stockholm we had an apartment in the Östermalm area, and we thought about getting something there now as well. But with a baby (and dog) we decided that we want something a bit less hectic and not right in the middle of it all where it's impossible to park a car and have any privacy. So when we found this place in Lidingö, that's right next to the sea (and has a sea view) in a very calm villa area, we felt that it was exactly what our family needs right now! And I have a feeling we'll stay in this area for a pretty long time. I'll show you more next week when we've gotten more things done!
